Baroda, also known as Vadodara, is a city in the western state of Gujarat, India. Gujarat has improved its IT infrastructure significantly over the past ten years, and the state government has carried out a number of programmes to encourage the expansion of the IT sector.

Baroda has become a centre for IT and software development firms in recent years. With numerous businesses operating there and providing services like software development, IT consulting, and BPO services, the city has a well-established IT infrastructure. A number of IT parks and SEZs (Special Economic Zones) in Baroda offer cutting-edge amenities and infrastructure for IT businesses. The Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) IT Park and the TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) IT Park are two of the more well-known IT parks in Baroda.

Overall, Baroda has a robust and expanding IT infrastructure, with numerous businesses operating in the city and numerous state government measures done to support the development of the IT industry.

To meet the city's growing demand for cutting-edge technologies as well as the growth trajectory for MSMEs and channel partners, CRN India, in association with Dell Technologies in partnership with Ingram Micro, had organised a mega conference, Transformation Tour, in Vadodara at Hyatt Vadodara on April 20, 2023.

The first speaker, Khalid Shaikh, Channel Pre -Sales - West, Dell Technologies presented on the theme ‘Winning in the Data era with Dell Technologies ’. He emphasised on how technology is shaping the future. Taking the audience through the journey of transformation, he mentioned, "Every organisation needs to be a digital organisation, powered by data, running in a multi- cloud world. Multi-cloud strategy requires a data first approach and Dell PowerStore is designed for the data era."

While presenting Dell’s product portfolio, Shaikh claimed that the storage vision from Dell Technologies is a straightforward integrated portfolio designed for any data at any time.

After Khakid Shaikh's insightful presentation, a dynamic panel discussion took place.

The technology leaders discussed on "Navigating the Digital Landscape: Strategies for SMBs in India to Embrace Digital Transformation" during the session.

Snehal Vyas, DGM-IT at Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd., emphasised the significance of IT adoption for SMBs by stating that "Digital Transformation is a journey and not a destination", and mentioning some of their most recent IT initiatives, including adopting SCADA integration with SAP HANA and considering IT-OT integration.

Neeraj Haathi, CTO and Co-Founder of NurseCare, added to the conversations underlining the necessity of digitalisation by saying, "Improving efficiency and cost reduction should be the main focus for any business, and AI can definitely help in achieving the same."

The head of IT for Banco Products, Rajnikant Chauhan, highlighted the organisation's recent transition by saying, "Moving to the cloud has been a major step in our digital transformation journey, and now we are evaluating to implement automation to reduce repetitive tasks".

Khalid Shaikh, Channel Pre -Sales - West, Dell Technologies, who was the final speaker, said that "AI is the future and it can definitely help to enhance customer experience for any kind of business," as he wrapped-up the conversation.

The crowd responded to the panel discussion with enthusiasm, and several rounds of questions and answers followed. It was the first stop on the Transformation Tour in Vadodara, after visiting more than 20 tier 2 and tier 3 cities. A positive note emerged from the conference. The city's SMBs and IT channel partners were very appreciative and actively supported it.

Over 41 people from the MSME segment and 52 people from the channel partner community attended the conference, which came to a successful conclusion.

The guests praised Dell's product range and gave the CRN India team their opinions on how Dell has helped MSMEs in Vadodara convert into digital businesses and how this has affected the economic trends in the city.
