To enlighten the audience on ‘Winning in the Data Era with Dell Technologies’, Khalid Shaikh, Channel Pre-sales - West, Dell Technologies took over the dais and shared his knowledgeable insights. He said, “Modernising IT enables organisations to maximise the value of data and software. Therefore, every organisation needs to be a digital organisation, powered by data, running in a multi-cloud world.”
While laying out a clear paradigm for enterprises to adopt cloud, he spoke on the various cloud models available. Also, he highlighted the difference between hybrid cloud and multi could approaches. “Multi- cloud strategy requires a data-first approach. Enterprises need to ensure that their data is in the right place, at the right time, and with the right SLO,” Shaikh added.
Shaikh, in his industry presentation, showed the vast product lineup and service portfolio of Dell. “Dell's PowerStore is a modern storage solution with flexible architecture and program that helps customers to adapt to any future requirements. It has a container-based design, a self-optimising architecture, and the flexibility to scale up and scale out. PowerStore has been deployed in 90 percent of Fortune 500 companies.”
Moreover, Dell offers Cloud IQ for free of cost with our solutions. Cloud IQ is a cloud-based monitoring and predictive analytics for storage, SAN, and data protection. It is a tool that helps customers anticipate business needs and avoid outages with capacity forecasting, he added.
A power-packed panel discussion that underline customer perspectives around the theme ‘Navigating the Digital Landscape: Strategies for SMBs in India to Embrace Digital Transformation’ followed Shaikh's informative presentation. Sandhya Michu, Special Correspondent, CRN India moderated the discussion.
Ujjwal V Thengdi, Founder, Aviation Business Consultancy spoke elaborately on the evolution of aviation industry and the need for new-age technologies in the sector. Moreover, he shed light on how technologies like AI, VR, AR, metaverse could pose a gamechanger for the sector. He highlighted, “Digital transformation has helped the aviation industry in a big way, especially considering the instruments used today. Technology plays a key role to reinforce security and trust in the sector.”
Sharing his vantage points on the digital transformation journey of the pharma sector, Rahul Kore, Associate Director - Science and Technology, Watson (Teva) Pharma addressed the august gathering. He said, “IT has helped a lot with respect to managing our data, validating our data and helping pharma companies to digitally deal with our clients in India and abroad.” In addition, he also brought to light the changing work culture, like work-from-home, post-pandemic and how a robust IT infrastructure is needed to support the changing demands.
“Anything that is manual has a human touch and thus is prone to human error. At this point, technology plays a key role in eradicating such basic errors,” Shishir Gupta, CEO, StartUp Lanes said as he begun his take on the topic. He laid emphasis on the essential role of startups that are developing new technologies and tools to solve societal problems. Further, he vividly spoke on cybersecurity and called it “the most pressing issue”.
Khalid Shaikh corresponded with other speakers’ deliberations. He advocated the advantages of technology adoption saying, “Technology is the differentiating factor that also helps enterprises to build trust with their customers.” Moreover, he highlighted how Dell products are developed and designed on ‘security-by-design’ concept.
