The MSME sector has emerged a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy. It is contributing significantly to the economic and social development of the country. Due to the development and adoption of appropriate local technology driven solutions, these MSME’s have succeeded in providing fierce competition in the domestic as well as international markets.
At the same time, one cannot deny the fact that today MSME’s play a pivotal role in the development of any state or a city. This holds true for the city of Nashik as well, which has emerged as a big industrial hub in the state of Maharashtra. Nashik’s economic growth is driven by the strong performance of its industrial sectors like manufacturing, textile, and pharma among others. Also known as ‘Wine Capital of India’, Nashik is an emerging investment destination for IT companies as well.
As the MSME sector in Nashik is witnessing phenomenal growth, one big factor behind this is rapid adoption of IT infrastructure. The companies operating in Nashik have adopted the right technology tools and business management solutions to offer innovative products to the Indian market.
Recognizing this fabulous growth of the city of Nashik and provide further technology support for the development and modernization of the MSME sector, CRN India, in association with Dell Technologies and Redingtion, organised the Transformation Tour conference in Nashik on January 10, 2023.
Nivedan Prakash, Editor, CRN India commenced the conference with a welcome note. While emphasising that digital adoption is essential for businesses to leverage opportunities and accelerate growth, he spoke about how most innovations of today are powered by technology. He extended a warm welcome to the speakers and the audience.
The first speaker Md Danish Khan, Lead Presales Channel, North India, Dell Technologies took the dais and began with a note that “in the present day world, IT is the business.” While addressing the audience on the theme ‘Innovate IT Infrastructure’ he said, “Around 92 percent organisations look at digital transformation and digital initiatives as a critical element for success. Earlier, organisations looked at IT as an enabler but today IT is not only driving business but adding value to it. Adoption of advanced technologies like automation, AI, cloud infrastructure, etc., is today helping enterprises not only to optimise their operations but also to become more agile, efficient, and productive.“
Shedding light on Dell’s portfolio, Khan pointed out, “Dell Live Optics is a free, online software that enterprises can use to collect, visualize, and share data about their IT environment and workloads.” He further talked about Dell Cloud IQ that helps organizations monitor storage directly from their mobile phones, wherein they can track storage health, predict utilization requirements, and detect anomalies.
APEX is Dell's new buying experience where the customer has to pay as per its usage. It is a flexible consumption model, with integrated services, secured through an e-commerce portal, he added. Further, Khan presented the wide array of storage and data centre solutions that Dell offers. One such offering is Dell PowerStore, whose data-centric, intelligent, and adaptable infrastructure provides enterprises greater storage flexibility, performance, and insight across a wide range of applications at the mid-range price.
He said, “We offer a cloud-based data backup service on subscription basis for small customers. Also, there is a complete portfolio of cloud-based data backup solutions for bigger customers.”
Giving a brief overview of the ‘Future-Proof Storage Loyalty Program’, Khan stated that under this program, Dell is giving customers a 3 year satisfaction guarantee, hardware investment protection, a 4:1 all flash storage efficiency guarantee, and never-worry data migration.
To cater to the changing market demands as the hybrid work culture settles in, enterprises are investing heavily in upgrading their IT infrastructure to cater to the changing requirements. Dell has 3000 series, 5000 series, and 7000 series of workstations on offer. These cater to not only those working from home or office but also for small and medium enterprises. Moreover, for small enterprises, educational purposes and home use, Dell offers Vostro series of laptops.
The conference catered to over 60 attendees and was attended by dignitaries across vertical industries. The attendees spoke highly of Dell’s product lineup and shared their views on the digital transformation of MSMEs in Nashik and its impact on the city’s economic trends with the CRN India team.
Anil Tadkod, General Manager – IT, Nashik Municipal Smart City Development Corporation Ltd., asserted, “As part of Nashik Smart City, we are rendering services not only for the citizens in order to make their lives meaningful but also for different government departments like police department or municipal corporation. All these require integration of various technologies to bring out meaningful analytics. I believe global technology players like Dell look at and study the pain point of businesses and come up with right solutions.”
The conference in the series of ‘Transformation Tour’ held at Nashik ended on a high note. The delegates expressed appreciation for Dell’s lineup of products and were in consensus with each other on how Dell has come up with technology solutions that cater to every type of customer - ranging from the industry’s first 15th generation server Dell’s EMC PowerEdge to the industry’s most preferred storage solution, Dell’s Unity. Dell’s wide portfolio is one of its biggest USPs and a major reason why the company is a market leader.
