Transformation Tour - Kochi Chapter

The post-COVID-19 era has turned out to be a hidden blessing for India's IT industry. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the growth of IT companies has been remarkable. IT firms of all types have seen a surge in contract opportunities from around the world, resulting in significant increases in their assets and profits.

A prime illustration of success is the establishment of Infopark in 2004, a visionary project initiated by the Government of Kerala. Notably, Kochi is rapidly ascending the ranks as a prominent IT hub within India. This upward trajectory is owed to the recent surge in the IT sector, complemented by the government's proactive endeavors to enhance infrastructure. As a result, Kochi has swiftly evolved into a technological focal point of the nation. Its appeal to corporate entities seeking to broaden their operations in South India is further underscored by the presence of a skilled and cost-effective labor pool, making Kochi an attractive destination for business expansion.

In an effort to bring to light the potential of the city as an emerging IT hub of Kerala, CRN India, a B2B IT publication of The Indian Express Group, in partnership with Dell Technologies and Ingram Micro, organised Transformation Tour, a one-day conference, on 15th September 2023, at Radisson Blu, Kochi

Kochi, often dubbed the "Queen of the Arabian Sea," is experiencing a remarkable boom in its Information Technology (IT) sector. This growth is fueled by a convergence of factors that have made the city an attractive destination for IT companies and professionals alike.

Kochi has invested significantly in developing robust infrastructure, including modern IT parks and office spaces, creating a conducive environment for tech businesses to thrive. The city's crown jewel in this regard is Infopark, a sprawling IT hub that hosts numerous tech companies.

Complementing the infrastructure is a skilled workforce that Kochi proudly boasts. The city's educational institutions and training centers produce a steady stream of IT graduates and professionals, ensuring a talent pool that is essential for the sector's growth. The city's vibrant startup scene is another significant contributor to its IT growth.

The conference commenced with an enlightening panel discussion titled "Navigating the Digital Landscape: Strategies for SMBs in India to Embrace Digital Transformation." Esteemed industry experts, namely Jayan Jacob Meledom, Director & CEO, Activelogica Lifescience Innovations Pvt Ltd; V. Mohan Das, CEO, Mohan's Electronics & Illuminators; Jerry Thomas, Director, Copious Consultants & Copious Infotech; and Rana Pandey, Group Product Manager, Ingram Micro, shared invaluable insights.

The consensus among these experts was clear: for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) embarking on the journey of digital transformation, understanding their individual needs and limitations is paramount. This initial assessment forms the bedrock upon which a clear roadmap for digital transformation is constructed. By recognising the pivotal role that data analytics plays in enhancing productivity and facilitating informed decision-making, SMBs can make the most of their IT solutions.

Tailoring IT solutions to match their unique requirements ensures a more efficient and effective implementation. Moreover, embracing better data management and analytics equips SMBs with the tools to significantly boost productivity and make data-driven decisions that lead to more favorable outcomes. It's worth noting that many SMBs are now embracing a hybrid cloud approach, a strategy that prioritises data security while harnessing the flexibility offered by the cloud.

The event underscored the significance of raising awareness about advanced solutions, emphasising their critical role in the success of SMBs' digital evolution, cloud and its rapid adoption, etc.

After the panel discussion, attendees had the opportunity to engage with an insightful presentation delivered by Rana Pandey, Group Product Manager, IngramMicro. The presentation shed light on services and the line of products provided by Dell.

Rana exclusively talked on the theme, 'Grow Your Opportunity with Dell Technologies,' he passionately advocated the adoption of advanced technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Notably, he highlighted Dell as the pioneering and exclusive vendor to transition to Intel's 13th-generation processors, leaving behind the older 12th-generation. This technological leap significantly amplifies customers' productivity and efficiency.

Moreover, Pandey underscored how Dell Technologies, with its extensive array of products and services, facilitates seamless collaboration and enhanced productivity, clearing the path for superior and secure user experiences, especially in the context of the burgeoning remote work trend. He also introduced innovative offerings from Dell, particularly emphasising the forthcoming iteration of Dell Optimizer, poised to revolutionise the interconnectivity within the Dell Technologies portfolio. With systems, displays, and peripherals working harmoniously, it promises to deliver the world's most intelligent collaborative experience.

The Kochi Chapter of the Transformation Tour drew in more than 50 participants and featured engaging presentations and a productive brainstorming session. The conference received an enthusiastic response from the attendees and ended on a high note.
