Transformation Tour - Jaipur Chapter

Jaipur stands out as one of the rapidly expanding technology hubs in India. Due to its proximity to Delhi, Jaipur is well positioned to witness the development expanding outwards from the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). Also, the city is being seen as an emerging startup hub. This distinctive environment has played a pivotal role in addressing numerous challenges the city faced over time including cultural and social restraints such as changes in the cultural milieu, a lack of infrastructure, and institutional inefficiencies.

With time, the ecosystem has grown and various platforms are now accessible for entrepreneurs to research, develop, and grow outstanding businesses. This made Jaipur emerge as a sought-after destination for both IT enterprises and young professionals entering the industry.

IT firms in Jaipur have boosted employment, pushed growth, and provided access to a variety of resources, resulting in reduced poverty and improved living standards. With over 10,000 IT companies, 200 active angel investors, over 100 accelerators, 150 venture capitalists, and about 4,200 startups, NASSCOM has already established Jaipur as the country’s fifth-largest startup ecosystem. After the establishment of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Jaipur, various companies like Genpact, Coca-Cola, Infosys, and Ericsson, as well as many SMBs, have expressed interest and made investments and initiated their operations in Island of Glory.

In an effort to bring to light the potential of the city as an emerging IT hub of Rajasthan, CRN India, a B2B IT publication of The Indian Express Group, in partnership with Dell Technologies and Redington organised Transformation Tour, a one-day conference, on 20th September 2023, at Marriott, Jaipur.

The conference kicked off with great enthusiasm and energy. Aditya Venkatesh, Senior Manager Consulting at Redington Limited took the stage for an exciting session on "Modernizing Your IT Infrastructure." He shed light on the transformative power of Dell's integrated intelligence and emphasised on the need for adaptability in the face of evolving infrastructure demands.

Veankatesh said, “Dell's self-optimising design incorporates workflow automation, predictive analytics, and robust cybersecurity measures. These features not only enhance operational efficiency but also fortify resilience in today's dynamic tech landscape.”

He delved into the rapid evolution of infrastructure demands, revealing that 92 percent of companies now embrace multi-cloud solutions, while over 50 percent direct new IT resources to the edge. Recognising this shift, Dell offers a diverse portfolio including PowerVault, Unity XT, PowerMax, PowerScale, and VXrail. This extensive range enables a tailored approach, ensuring optimal solutions for varying IT needs.

The session also underscored Dell's commitment to cloud security, safeguarding data for over 1,600 organisations and protecting nearly 14.2 EB of data. Notably, Dell's cloud data protection solutions were revealed to be 80 percent more cost-efficient, instilling trust and integrity in the modernisation journey. Aditya's insights offered a comprehensive understanding of how Dell's innovations address the challenges of the present IT landscape, paving the way for organisations to modernise their infrastructure effectively.

After the session, attendees had the opportunity to engage in a thought-provoking panel discussion. Rajneesh Singh, Head IT and SAP, Rays Power Infra Pvt Ltd., Shashi Bhargava, Managing Director, John's Electric Company Pvt Ltd, Hetendra Singh Rathore, Director, Tikkly Agro Solutions Pvt Ltd, and Aditya Venkatesh, Senior Manager Consulting, Redington ltd joined the panel and shared their valuable insights on the topic, “Navigating the Digital Landscape: Strategies for SMBs in India to Embrace Digital Transformation.”

The consensus among these experts was clear: In the fast-changing world of technology, it's crucial to update and improve how businesses operate. This not only makes things run smoother but also helps companies stay competitive and relevant. A big part of this is using network micro-segmentation which acts like a security guard for computer systems. It keeps different parts of a network separate and secure, protecting against possible cyber threats.

Beyond its scalability and agility, the cloud serves as a fortress, safeguarding crucial data against various vulnerabilities. However, in the context of tier 2 cities, particularly for SMEs, unique challenges surface. Issues like the availability of a skilled workforce and a lack of awareness about the best solutions in the market hinder their technological progress. Bridging this gap becomes integral for the holistic growth of SMEs, ensuring that they can leverage the transformative power of modern technology securely and effectively.

To summarise, Jaipur has been progressing in the digital realm, the IT sector, with the rapid adoption of new-gen technologies and the emergence of more and more startups in the city.

The Jaipur Chapter of the Transformation Tour was a significant success, highlighting the city's growth as an emerging IT and innovation hub, especially with numerous startups sprouting in and around the city. The event drew in more than 50 attendees and featured engaging presentations and a productive brainstorming session. The conference received an enthusiastic response from the attendees and ended on a high note.
