India, in the past decade, has witnessed a massive growth in IT development. The country has emerged as an IT hub for globally leading software companies and the Indian IT firms have achieved prominent positions in the global market. With online retailing, e-commerce, cloud computing, and above all easily accessible and affordable internet services, the digitalisation and IT development has rapidly brought a makeover shift to the country. A major example could be the changing work environments. As per a survey done by Dell Technologies, 61 percent of people prefer hybrid work culture. This simply reflects how the IT infrastructure requirements for the users have increased at a personal level.
Moreover, this shift has been quite evident in tier 2 & 3 cities, like Indore. The people of Indore have actively adopted work-from-home and hybrid work cultures. Hence, they are investing in better computing systems, internet connectivity, and other relevant devices including data storage solutions. With this shift in the economic scenario of the city, the channel businesses have also seen a boost in their operations, thanks to the growing IT developments.
Shedding light on the theme, CRN India has created a platform ‘Building Bharat’ in partnership with Dell Technologies and TechData. The platform aims to host a series of conferences to address the customers about the IT developments in their city and how new-gen data storage and management solutions are providing an impetus to the otherwise slow-paced economy of these tier 2 and tier 3 cities. The first conference in the series was organised in the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh - Indore at JW Marriot Hotel on August 5, 2022.
Sudhir Kumar, Partner Account Manager - IT, Dell Technologies took the podium and delivered an enriching presentation in the first session themed - ‘Embrace the future of work’.
While addressing the gathering, Kumar highlighted, “Modernising IT, modernising workspace, and cybersecurity are the three must-haves to embrace the future of work.” Elaborating on cybersecurity, he further presented numbers stating that 78 percent of cyber attacks have been seen on people working from home. Lack of awareness among the people is one of the prominent reasons for the compromised security measures to safeguard data. Also, people are not well-aware of advanced security solutions.
Taking the deliberation towards products that Dell offers to cater to the needs of the present-day employees, Kumar said that Dell has come up with its Optiplex portfolio for desktops that take care of the needs of employees working from home, or from office or in a hybrid mode. Dell also offers Latitude series and XPS portfolio for laptop users working from office or home or in hybrid mode.
Md Danish Khan, Lead Pre-Sales Channel North India, Dell Technologies shared some insightful deliberations on how organisations can modernise their IT infrastructure to cater to their respective needs. He said, “Lowering operational costs, leveraging cloud, innovation in business, and unlocking new value are factors that drive value to the organisation.” IT is an essential part of almost every organisation across the globe and growth without technology is not possible today or in the future, he added.

As Dell is known for its service delivery and customer-centric initiatives, he highlighted, “Every customer has multiple applications running in its data centre. Therefore, Dell offers the industry's largest portfolio of solutions that caters to all types of customer demands. For most products that Dell offers, customers can take it on a pay per use model as a service.”
Elaborating on Dell's portfolio, he said, “Dell's Adaptive Compute is engineered to optimise the latest technology advances for predictable profitable outcomes. Also, Dell's PowerStore Experience is the industry's storage portfolio and offers storage solutions that effectively caters to the changing demands of the industry.” Dell's Unity is the industry's most preferred storage solution, while the Powermax storage is one of the most powerful solutions in the industry. “We have a complete workload analysis tool, Liveoptics. Ltd. spoke on his experience with emerging technologies and how these are reshaping the future of industries. “In any stream, any work, or any industry, a technology like Artificial Intelligence can play a pivotal role and be a game changer, however, one needs to identify the right application of the technology.”
Speaking about Dell Technologies, Singh said that the company has cited today and also shown us in the past how they have worked on bringing cutting-edge technology solutions to the market. Any person or organisation in the industry looks forward to one point of contact for all its requirements and needs rather than reaching out to multiple solution providers. Therefore, the company’s approach to providing single-point solutions can be a game changer and could create a win-win situation for both the customers and Dell.
