Transformation Tour - Bhubaneswar Chapter

Odisha is quickly establishing itself as India's technological resource powerhouse and providing opportunities to various industries. The state has made notable achievements in the IT industry in recent years. Fast emerging as a technology hub of India, Odisha is creating jobs for the youth. The enabling environment, facilitation service and huge talent pool available here have turned Odisha into a prime IT destination.

Organisations are looking at a variety of disruptive technologies, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, digital process automation, the Internet of Things, robotics and drones, security, and virtual or augmented reality. Therefore, IT has become an integral part of every sector in a II-tier city like Bhubaneswar. It has also been observed that channel partners in the city are no longer attached to traditional SMB, education and home segments. In fact, they are looking to work closely with the leading technology vendors in the areas of emerging technologies and address their customer requirements.

To tap the emerging possibilities and growth of these cities, CRN India & Express Computer, the two leading IT publications from The Indian Express Group, in association with Dell Technologies in partnership with Redington, had organised a mega conference, Transformation Tour, for the Channel Partners operating in Bhubaneshwar at Vivanta Bhubaneswar on December 16, 2022.

Featuring insightful keynotes and live tech demos, this exclusive event was organised to deep dive into how one can strengthen partnership with Dell to drive the next chapter of growth and deliver more and more value to the end customers with the help of Dell products and solutions, that will help create a strong foundation for informed, time- bound decision-making.

Modernising IT transformation

The session started with an interesting presentation, ‘Modernize your IT Transformation’, by Repaka Ramesh, Advisory Systems Engineer, Dell Technologies.

Addressing the gathering, Ramesh stated, “Today, digital transformation is shaping each and every business and technology is impacting the future of businesses. We, at Dell, are addressing all the technical requirements of entry, mid and large level organisations”.

“Businesses today are transforming themselves into digital powerhouses and IT must focus on driving the value to the company rather than just being an enabler, and to meet these changing requirements. Enterprises should leverage advanced and innovative technology solutions and the CIO or CTO need to look at regular updating of technologies, while monitoring and managing the digital infrastructure to make data- driven and informed decisions,” he added.

The delegates appreciated the presentation by Dell representatives and were vocal about the company’s seamless service delivery and customer-centric approach.

Surendra Kumar Nanda, Assistant Professor, Computer Science & Engineering, C.V Raman Global University mentioned that the IT market in Bhubaneswar is growing rapidly and 70-80 percent people are using Dell products. "We, at C.V Raman Global University, are also using Dell products and looking forward to more solutions from the company. We are Glad that Dell is coming up with new technologies for its customers in tier 2 cities," mentioned Nanda.

Umakanta Triparthy, Scientist-F, National Institute of Electronics stated, “We got to know about the new things in computing and its benefits. We are already a customer of Dell and look forward to continuing this relationship in the future. We see this initiative of Dell as an opportunity for customers like us to explore new growth areas and align with Dell.”

Ravi Onkari, CFO, Sri Sri University reminded that infrastructure demand has become the need of the hour. “Here, in Bhubaneswar, the biggest market is education and people are using IT as an enabler in education. We feel the best part with Dell is, it has end-to-end solutions and at the same time being a very responsible company, is innovation focused. We really appreciate the efforts Dell has made to bring the latest technology and innovation to our city Bhubaneswar and specially in the education sector,” he shared.

Similar views were expressed by Amiya Ranjan Badajena, Director, Pabitra Manjari Educational Foundation who mentioned that Dell is providing end-to-end solutions for all businesses in Bhubaneswar, from startups to large enterprises. “With Dell, emerging companies and the sectors of education and manufacturing can look forward to networking and connecting tools/solutions,” he said.

The Transformation Tour- Bhubaneswar concluded on a high note. The delegates expressed appreciation for Dell’s product lines and unanimously agreed that the company has come up with a technology solution for every type of customer. The insightful keynotes and live tech demos, will help the customers make informed, time- bound decisions.
