The event kicked off with an interesting and engaging panel discussion on the topic: “Navigating the Digital Landscape: Strategies for SMBs in India to Embrace Digital Transformation.” The panellists, who represented a variety of companies serving the SMB market, delivered an insightful conversation.
Rajesh Srivastava, CIO, Projects, Trident Group India, highlighted that AI and VR tools are integral at Trident Group's factories, contributing to the creation of data lakes. He also added how, leveraging these, they have conducted advanced data analytics, generating insightful data dashboards. Such technologies play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency, emphasised Srivastava.
While Vivek Pathak, Senior Deputy General Manager, IT, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, stated, “Our aim is to transform BHEL into a smart factory, enhancing machine intelligence and efficiency.” He also stressed the fact that “Industry 4.0 initiatives, like smart manufacturing, have the potential to increase global manufacturing economic value by $3.7 trillion by 2025.”
Sandeep Jain, Head IT Consultancy Division, Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP), stressed: “Cyber insurance is crucial for SMBs but is frequently disregarded due to low awareness and untrained staff. Overlooking it jeopardises cybersecurity. A 2022 survey revealed 43 percent of small businesses lacked awareness of cyber insurance benefits, highlighting the necessity for education. Making this a priority is crucial to strengthening defences against cyber threats.”
Lastly, Rana Pandey, Group Business Manager, Ingram Micro, pointed out, “As technology advances swiftly, enterprises must prioritise their tech investments wisely and acknowledge, embrace, and adapt to the current tech trends.” He concluded the discussion by stating, “Ingram, as service providers, stand ready to assist customers on their digital transformation journey.”
The insightful discussion was followed by an informative session on "Grow your opportunities with Dell Technologies" by Rana Pandey, Group Business Manager, Ingram Micro. He highlighted key aspects of Dell's offerings that empower users and enhance their overall work experience.
He emphasised the significance of Dell Optimizer, stating, "Dell Optimizer uses AI features to maximise performance in addition to enhancing remote work capabilities and protecting data." Pandey highlighted the versatility of Dell's Latitude series, including models like the 3000, 5000, 700p, and 9000, which empower users to confidently engage in advanced tasks on commercial PCs regardless of their location. Underscoring the intelligent features of Dell Optimizer, Pandey mentioned, "Dell Optimizer is intelligent AI-driven software leveraging data science to enhance the overall user experience, based on the requirements and irrespective of your location or work environment."
Furthermore, he shed light on the Dell Precision series, specifically designed for experts and equipped with an integrated graphics card, presenting them as advanced versions of the Latitude and OptiPlex series. In conclusion, Pandey reiterated Dell's commitment to the enduring trend of hybrid work, emphasising, "Dell is committed to the enduring trend of hybrid work and provides personalised solutions to address the requirements and challenges of hybrid workers" as a key takeaway from the session.
